Music, Food and Drink

The maxim of The Craic house is Ceoil, bia agus ól which is 'Gaeilge' or Irish for food, music and drink - and that's what we deliver. We have a huge selection of eclectic and electric music. Are Kraak and Smaak or Aphex twin your bag? Or maybe you prefer The Gotan Project or Nightmares on Wax? No problem. Perhaps you prefer to get your funk on with Parliament or Bootsy? Or maybe shake a leg to Faze Action. Or do you want to chill out with a cocktail listening to The Orb or Morcheeba? Can do. Perhaps you're an aficionado of folk and like to sing a long with Fionn Regan, David Gray and John Martyn. We like to also. Or do you want to discuss the riches of contemporary Irish music - The Frames, Jape, The Republic of Loose? Grab a bar stool.
The Food

Contemporary cooking with an occasional Irish twist - that's what we aim to put on your plate. We've personally spent hours and hours in the markets of Cebu, Bogo and Daan Bantayan to find out what is freshest when and that's how we plan our menu. Malapascua is a small island and does not have local produce other then fish so we employ a shopper to Cebu Island full time to get crunchy vegetables, still squirming crabs and lots more. We also deal with the importers of the best hams, cheeses and other luxury items that are hard to find in our part of the world. This allows us to deliver sensational food, cooked with passion and served in our laid back restaurant. Lami kaayo as the locals say. We are often happy to be defined by what we DON'T serve. No disappointing pizzas here!
The Drink

Matt and David enjoy a beer. But it has to be cold. There is no excuse. We do not turn off our fridges to save money and expect you to drink warm beer for most of the night. We keep our fridges stocked and running so that we can deliver a basic human right! We also keep our prices competitive so you can enjoy our stunning ocean view on a budget. For the more adventurous we serve cocktails as well as made to order fresh fruit shakes. We also have a large selection of spirits including very economical local ones and a wallet breaking 12 year aged Irish whiskey . . .
